- Place Value
>Have your child write the number in word form and expanded form. (i.e. three hundred forty five million eight hundred
seventy six thousand nine hundred one and 300,000,000 + 40,000,000 + 5,000,000 + 800,000 + 70,000 + 6,000 +
900 + 1)
>Have your child tell you the value of various digits. (i.e. the digit 4 is valued at 40,000 or forty thousand)
- Write three numbers (varying in value: try to have your child work with numbers in the millions and thousands) have your child compare and order the three numbers from greatest to least; then from least to greatest.
-Write Digits 0-9 on note cards making (3 or 4 sets with one in red). Have your child pull out 5 to 11 cards from the black stack and 1 card from the red stack.
>Have them create the biggest number possible with the digits they have.
>Have them create the smallest number possible with the digits they have.
>Have them tell you what place value the red digit is in.
>Shuffle the cards and flip over have your child read the word, write the word in standard, expanded and word form.
