Scientific Method
- What is the scientific method?
- The steps of the scientific method? 1. State a Problem or Ask a Question -Research to better understand and to see if the question has been answered already. 2. Formulate a Hypothesis (Educated Guess or Prediction) 3. Experiment 4. Analyze your Data 5. Conclusion (Answer to the Question) 6. Report Results 7. Inquire Further (Are there more questions we should test) The Rock Cycle
Igneous Rocks: Rocks formed from melted rocks and minerals that are cooled. There are two types of igneous rocks intrusive and extrusive. Intrusive rocks develop when the magma cools slowly underground. The crystals are usually larger. Extrusive rocks develop when the magma comes out of the ground (lava) and cools quickly outside of the earth. The crystals are usually smaller.
Sedimentary Rocks: Rocks formed from layers and layers of sediments laying upon each other. The weight of the layers form pressure and in time the pressure squeezes the layers together forming a new rock. Metamorphic Rocks: |
